Vintage Horseshoe Nail Ring - Rochester, NY, Centennial 1934 in Doylestown, PA

Commemorative ring fashioned from a horseshoe nail to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Rochester, NY, the Erie Canal boomtown on the Genesee River chartered as a city in 1834. The horseshoe nail recalls the days when legions of horses moved Rochester's bustling commercial traffic. The nail head is decorated with a mesh pattern and bears the numbers "4" and "9" on the top. Engraved on the shank with "Roch. - Cent. [removed phone]." Includes original storage box. Estimated to be Size 5. Very good condition.
